Read on to see how to recreate the totally ‘grammable, cute-quirky vibe of a curtained faux fringe (or even get a real one, if you’re so inclined!). BRB, bookmarking for all of this year’s parties:

Jason Wu F/W 2018: The Soft, Natural Faux Fringe

Step 1: Start on clean, washed hair.

Grease is the enemy of all bangs, ever! Get a fresh start by washing hair with a frizz-defying shampoo, like TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shampoo and Keratin Smooth Conditioner.

Step 2: Prep your locks.

Spray hair with a thermal protectant/pre-styler, like TRESemmé Repair & Protect 7 Pre-Styling Spray, to protect hair against damage and make it easier to style. Create a natural-looking center part. Note: Don’t brush hair!

Step 3: Use pins to create lift.

Pinch hair at the crown and use small silver clips to hold to encourage lift and for some added elevation.

Step 4: Push and tuck.

Using a wide-toothed comb, push the front of your hair forward and use flat clips to keep it in place. Leave a small slip of hair in front of your ears (your sideburn area) and tuck the rest behind your shoulders, using additional clips to secure.

Step 5: Blow-dry.

Leave clips in while drying hair on the cool setting, while gently scrunching hair to bring out its natural texture.

Step 6: Finish with hairspray.

Spray a light mist of TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hairspray Extend Hold Level 4, then remove all clips, making sure to shake out the kinks. Want more NYFW backstage beauty inspiration? Check out our fab roundup of the cool girls at Jill Stuart.
